Cloud Life: Future living concept

Contents

Concept

Flexibility

Retrofit existing or place in new buildings (which generates faster spread) Swarm logic → even when parts break down, system keeps operating Create the specific space you need, based on functions, shape and size. (pay per 5m2 / h)

Personalisation

Color, shapes and functions through online interface Online system → Prebook: design yourself / template / online sharing

Financial Viability

(small header test)

Started designing with finacial viability for property managers and users in mind.

Compare to current prices per hour with exact numbers

  From property managers perspective
From users perspective (specify target group exactly: why them)

Variable prices based on demand, within a range (reference plane tickets)

Spread of Cloud Life to many locations enhances individual memberships

Members have option to book a space, not rent/own (use references)

Prototype

Process

Components

Show each part in the model seperately
Wall (is also door, lighting and shelving system)
Bed (combine as many single beds as you like)
Desk (chair included, combine or unfold for bigger desk)

Interface

Software/plugins used and communication methods used (internet/cables) --> Slide of Jiun about software and hardware used to change model You don’t need to be present to make changes (webcam, presets and live movement over internet)

- Introduction Cloud Life is a concept for future living created by architectural design students for a Master design course at the department of Hyperbody of the Technical University of Delft in The Netherlands.

The challenge was set to minimise the dimensions of a standard 100m2 appartment to about half it’s size with móre functionality. We took a radical approach in which we provide each user with their personally specified space and ónly the function they use at that time.

This method allows us to reach an efficiency way beyond the 200% target, it will be closer to 1000%! This means extremely efficient use of high quality space at a lower price for users and higher income for the Cloud Life property managers.

What if..
you could logon to your personal space, book a room before arrival and find it waiting tailor-fit to your personal specifications, no matter where you choose to live and work for that part of the day?

What if..
you were given a lot of flexibility in the amount of time, space and different functions you could choose for your personal work or living space?

What if..
all of these amazing properties could be possible at a lower price than your current house and workplace?

You can stop dreaming, Cloud Life is here to change the world!

After many major industries already found distributed and cloud-based business models to combat ever changing markets in need of more flexibility and lower prices, finally architecture will have a chance to catch up using the Cloud Life philosophy.

In the past people bought a house in which they used to live their entire lives. Currently we switch homes on average about 7 times during our lifetime and started renting for long terms.

We propose a booking system per hour, for maximum flexibility ánd at lower cost to the end user.

Our design is '''flexible''', '''sustainable''' and '''affordable'''
We designed the system to be '''compact''' enough to fit completely in the ceiling
Our design is based on swarm logic, which provides us with a '''robust''' system which keeps working, even when some components may brake.
The Cloud Life system is designed to be '''retrofitted''' in existing buildings, which gives a lot of freedom in choice of location and is a sustainable alternative to building a completely new structure.
You can '''personalise''' the color, shapes and functions of your furniture and the entire room, all from your electronic device. This will make your booked space feel like a “home away from home”, no matter which Cloud Life location in the world you choose to logon to.
The strength of our system lies in the '''profitability''' for the operator of each Cloud Life location, because of the extremely intense use of each square meter by many different users each day. This will be one of the key factors in spreading the Cloud Life concept around the world, to great benefit of all subscribed users.

-Society is changing
[[File:Cloud life Development of nomadic.jpg|850px]]
- Our answer to accommodate this lifestyle is Cloud Life - architecture is very slow to adapt to change, where the entertainment and transportation industry have made the step towards more flexible and accessible distributed businessmodels (show Spotify, Dropbox and Greenwheels) - explain owning a house and office is old-fashioned, the future is having a subscription to ‘space’ to do what (show functions) you want, where (show country and worldmap) you want and you only pay when (show 3 typical users with different living patterns) you use it.

====Design==== - Design requirements '''Affordable and profitable''' Affordable for the users who only pay for the amount of m2 they use and the exact time they use it. Profitable for ‘Cloud Life operators’ in that location because the same space is ‘booked’ by different users during the day.

On the left, a person waking up, leaving home, going to work and doing some leisure activities all the while a kind of money-meter will keep rising slowly. On the right, the same space used by three different people with a quicker rising money meter, but it is cheaper for each individual and more profitable for the operator who rents it out to Cloud Life use''
'''Sustainable''' - Design for existing buildings (like the many empty office buildings in The Netherlands)
- Only design for actual use, more intense use of same space.
- Use materials with environmental impact which can be completely re-used

[[File:Ecoboard samples.jpeg|850px]]

'''Flexibile''' - Could be applied to existing and new buildings
- The design itself ican be scaled up to any size
- It works like a hive-system even when parts of the system might fail and can work around existing structures like columns without a problem

yKOq_2P6cd0
'''Compact''' - All components are in the ceiling, which can can work and scale up in any space with a flat ceiling. We can work around existing structural elements without a problem. It’s a hive-like system, which still works when parts brake down.
- There is a 0-mode in which all elements including space dividing walls and all furniture is stowed away in the ceiling and a space can be used to it’s full potential

- Interface '''Booking system'''
- You can choose the location, date, time, m2 and function(s) you need all in our online booking system
- Book ahead to make sure your room is ready when you arrive
- Price is automatically chaning based on an algorithm with takes scarcity into account, as well as your desired roomsize and functional components you want present in the room '''Personalisation'''
- Log onto the CloudLife website and set your personal tastes (colors, furniture settings, lighting, room dimensions, etc)
- Change your room digitally in real time from your tablet, phone or laptop
- Change your room manually by moving around furniture or walls
